“You…what?” Memini asked, a curios expression clouding his face as if Sabrina had just uttered some form of gibberish rather than proper English. However, at her inquiry into the identity of the pathetic human being trembling in the corner, Memini’s physiognomy immediately reverted into its original arrangement of unmitigated rage, although this was directed at Kratos rather than Sabrina. “Yes, Sabrina, this is Adrasteia. The presence of cherry always reduces him to…something less than human. I doubt he can even hear us right now.”
He glanced back at his ‘protector’ whose figure was curled up in a fetal position; his head clutched in his hands, eyes clenched tight shut. It was difficult to believe this was the same calm and composed man who tended to his needs on a daily basis. He sighed, unresponsive, Adrasteia was unresponsive! He wouldn’t hear Memini now; he was too lost in whatever nightmarish contemplations were going on in his head. He was unreachable in this state…maybe already insane?
“I’m not sure how long. I gained consciousness only mere seconds before you arrived with Kratos. Adrasteia, snap out of it!” As if by some naïve hope that his butler would answer to his young master, Memini practically shouted in the terrified man’s ears and shook him frantically as if he were a rag doll. Evidently, this didn’t help much and probably just enhanced Adrasteia’s terror. He sighed, resigned to the fact that he was completely useless in this situation…unless…
Approaching the table, he began stuffing his face with food, the less cherry the better! Especially since the scent of it was originating from this heap of fodder wolfing it down like a pig might actually help this situation. Turning to Kratos, he was surprised to see his legal guardian calmly scrutinizing the scene, an oblivious look on his face. From the lack of a reply, the smirk, and the soft laughter he soon deduced that the creep was currently under the influence of Rouge. It made his movements unpredictable. With a look of shocked horror on his face, the boy turned to Sabrina, his eyes pleading for her to deny it as he asked, “You said you gave HIM the gun?”

Ignoring Memini’s inquiry about who was in possession of the gun, Sabrina walked to the poor man and sighed. “Adrasteia, it’ll be okay,” she said softly, just in case he could hear. She kneeled down and thought about what she could do to help. Right then, she remembered something that had been in her handbag. Somehow, she’d been able to hold onto it, and so dug through it to find the perfume Memini had given her earlier that night. That might help a little.
She looked back up to see Memini shaking Adrasteia to wake him up. “No, stop!” she said quickly. “That’s probably making it worse. Don’t shake him like that.” She tried to look at Adrasteia’s face, but he was curled up too tightly for her to see any facial expression. So she just grabbed the perfume bottle and sprayed it near Adrasteia, so that instead of the cherry smell, it smelled like flowers instead.
She looked back to see Memini devouring the tarts like his life depended on it. Laughing softly, Sabrina walked over to join him. “This is another way to help,” she said with a small giggle. As she also glanced up at Kratos and frowned. Why was he watching them like that? It was really starting to scare her. Was he going to do some other horrible thing to them?
Before she could contemplate this very long, however, she heard Memini yell, “You gave HIM the gun?” She looked over to her friend and sighed. He would be so furious with her. She sighed and looked away from him so she didn’t have to look into his eyes.
“Yes, Memini, I did,” she said softly. “But if I hadn’t, he would have just taken it from me by force!” She folded her arms in front of herself. “At least since I gave it to him he wasn’t angry at me. Think about it: if he would have had to get it from me himself, he would have been mad and he could have shot me!” It made perfect sense to her, and she didn’t see how stupid she’d been. Had she kept the gun, Kratos wouldn’t be able to shoot any of them. But now he had that option.
But she just continued in her defense. “And I can’t shoot someone!” she said. “I just… can’t. And Kratos knew that when I threatened him with it. There wasn’t any point in me keeping it, because he wasn’t buying it anyway…” As if to ask for him to vouch for her, Sabrina looked up at the man who was still watching the scene play out.

“But…but…SABRINA!” Memini practically shouted, “This is Kratos we’re dealing with! He could randomly decide to shoot us at any minute! Have you forgotten that he’s under the influence of Rouge? I wouldn’t trust him in such a state even if he normally was a trustworthy person!”
There! He had said it! The truth that he had denied for so long! Despite all those reassuring words he had said to Sabrina the reality of the situation was that he had as much faith in his legal guardian as a chicken had for a fox. Exactly why he had been hiding his suspicions from Sabrina was beyond him…
Although he conjectured that perhaps this was because he didn’t trust her innocent and straight-forward disposition to help him keep up the act. Why play pretend? Well that question was simple enough to answer. The more unsuspecting Kratos thought Memini was, the more likely it was for the creep to let his guard down and reveal something crucial.
Perhaps if the act had been sustained for long enough Memini would have gained enough knowledge to have been able to predict Kratos’ movements. Well, that plan (years of it) was gone now, wasted, gone down the drain, all because Memini had blown his top and revealed his true feelings to Sabrina.
Well…had Kratos actually heard a word he had said? There certainly hadn’t been any sort of reaction coming from him. Maybe…hopefully…the man was by now too intoxicated by Rouge to even be aware of his surroundings at all.

Being the innocent and naïve girl she was, Sabrina had no idea what he was talking about when he said the word, ‘Rogue’. She had no idea the red liquid that she’d seen a couple of times before had a name. And since it made you forget things, she didn’t even remember taking it earlier that evening. So she could only give him a blank look. She trusted Kratos not to shoot them, since he had just told her that he had no desire to murder any of them.
But Memini seemed very scared, so she wondered if he knew something she didn’t. Glancing over at Kratos, she tried to see any sort of malicious glint in his eye. But of course, he looked so passive because of the Rogue, there didn’t seem to be any dangerous intentions from the man. But shouldn’t he look mad about what Memini had said about him? She found that quite peculiar. “Kratos?” she said quietly, trying to see if he would respond.
Before really giving him a chance to say anything, she looked back at Memini. “Look, I didn’t want to get shot!” she said seriously. “It seemed like a better idea to just give up the gun. You know it, too! He already tried to kill me once tonight, and he obviously hates me, so what was keeping him from taking the gun from me by force and shooting me because he was mad?”
She looked up at Kratos, wondering if he would respond to that. Why did he seem so distant from them? Before, he didn’t even look like he’d heard Memini’s accusations against him. It almost scared her a little bit that he didn’t look one bit angry at his charge for saying such things against him.

“Sabrina!” Memini shouted, he was about to add more before he stopped himself. Arguing wasn’t about to make things better. He couldn’t deny the possibility that this might just be him trying to push all the blame on her shoulders. Really, he should know better than that. He owed too much to her to get mad over something like this. “Sabrina, I’m sorry, okay. I understand you were scared.” The words were only begrudgingly spoken, almost as if he didn’t really mean it.
Cautiously, he stole a glance at his guardian, who was now seemingly completely oblivious but still swigging another bottle of Rouge nonetheless. Well, perhaps this whole situation would work to their advantage after all. Yet, he couldn’t help thinking that if Sabrina hadn’t given Kratos the gun then he would have a lot more confidence in his little escape plan.
Leaning towards Sabrina, Memini cupped his hands over her ear and whispered, “Come on Sabrina. I’m guessing Kratos is far too intoxicated now to notice if we took Adrasteia and hauled him out of here. What do you say; do you think you and I can manage? I noticed you limping earlier so if you are incapable of assisting me that’s fine. Nevertheless, regardless of what you do I think it’ll be best if we all used this opportunity to make a run for it. After all, Kratos didn’t bring any of his subordinates along with him, did he?”
OoC: Sorry my posts have been so short lately. I've been procrastinating a lot of things recently and also kinda forgot about what Kratos should act like.

Glancing up at Kratos, Sabrina nodded slowly. “He doesn’t seem to notice us much,” she agreed. She shook her head a little when he mentioned her limp. “No, I’m fine. Let’s just get out of here quickly.” She glanced over at Kratos once more, and decided that he looked very distant. With that decision in mind, she stepped over to Adrasteia.
“How do we get him out of here, though?” she asked. “He’s all curled up…” He still looked rather panicked, being surrounded by his worst fear. She bent down and stroked his hair caringly, hoping that would calm him down, at least a little. “Can we even get him upright to carry him?” She didn’t know how much she’d be able to help in her weakened state, and knew that Memini wasn’t very strong.
This whole escape plan seemed less and less likely to happen as she thought about it. Surely Kratos had his servants all around the house, and in that maze of a mansion, they would have to run into one at least. And carrying the butler with them, they wouldn’t move very fast. But she couldn’t just stay there; they could be killed if they did that.
She tried to bend down to pick up Adrasteia from the floor, but felt that her strength was sapped more than she thought by the slow loss of blood from the numerous thorns in her flesh. She gave up and looked to her friend. “I need some help…” she said quietly, though she hated asking for help no matter the circumstances.
OoC: That's okay, Rad. Don't worry about it.

Despite Kratos’ oblivious air, there was, at that moment, various thoughts swirling through his head; most of which concerned a particular deceased man, a man who, Kratos was convinced, could be blamed for everything…this entire ruined evening… That’s right, dead men can neither talk back nor defend themselves and it was thus that as the familiar headache set in, Kratos inwardly cursed the ‘pathetic friend’ who had died and left him alone on this god-forsaken planet.
Meanwhile, unmindful of the turmoil transpiring in his legal guardian’s head, Memini made some half-hearted attempts at helping Sabrina with the load presented by that helpless butler of his. Still, the haughty child wasn’t one to toll away at a task for long and after a short time he simply chose to abandon Sabrina with a light skip and hop before cautiously trotting over to the intoxicated Kratos.
After a few hesitant pokes, Memini turned back to Sabrina with a wave as if declaring it was safe to pass, that guarded seriousness immediately vanishing into thin air. Yet it was just at this moment that the ‘unexpected’ occurred and a hand descended from above to force itself over his mouth.
“Why can’t you be more like your brother?” Kratos hissed in a sinister voice, lowering his face to Memini’s level (which, considering the boy’s disagreeable height, was quite a distance) to fix him with a chilling stare.
Startled at first, Memini was surprisingly quick to recover and with an indignant frown on his face, the youngster swiftly retaliated with a firm bite, liberating himself from his guardian’s grasp like an untamed savage. Growling like some jungle beast, Memini then declared, “I am who I am. I don’t intend to change for anyone. Especially not you! Come on Sabrina, let’s get out of here.”
Thus he made his mistake by turning his back to the now enraged madman. After that, all he heard was the sound of a safety catch being unlocked as some cold metal object was shoved at the back of his head. Dammit! He hadn’t counted on that bastard actually summoning the nerve to threaten him like this…wait…that steeled look in his eyes…was Kratos playing for real this time?
“Haha, right. So you would prefer to die here…and today, wouldn’t you, you arrogant little brat?” Kratos snarled, his fingers hovering mere millimeters from the trigger.

Sabrina, being weak and tired, could hardly carry her fair share of Adrasteia’s weight when it was shared between her and Memini. It was nearly impossible for her to keep him up without his help. “Memini, hurry up!” she whimpered, her arms and legs shaking from the effort. “I can’t hold him much longer!”
She glanced up at the man she was holding up, and suddenly it was like Kratos had had a bucket of water dumped on him. He was fully awake now, and seemingly more crazy-looking than before. “Memini!” she yelled, like that would help anything. He’d already had his mouth shut by Kratos’ hand. Clenching her jaw, Sabrina tried to drag Adrasteia over to help so she wouldn’t have to drop him, but Memini seemed to already have things under control.
She almost couldn’t believe it. Was that all it took to defeat Kratos? Smiling, she started towing the poor butler with. Clueless was she to the fact that Kratos had other plans until she heard the metallic click of the gun. With surprise, she lost her grip and only caught Adrasteia and herself before he hit his head on the wooden floor beneath them.
Slowly, she eased him down to the floor and kneeled down next to him. “Kratos,” she snapped. “What did Memini ever do to you?” Even as she tended to Adrasteia, she still had a furious glare on her face. “You’re sick! Just let us go before you do something you regret!” Even though she was so small, injured, and looked like she was about to fall over, her words still seemed serious – as serious as they could sound, at least.
