OBEY THE LAW!
oo1. LITERACY. I simply cannot express how important this is. I understand writers block, I understand being lazy - but if you can't form a paragraph even while you are lazy as hell - don't join. In Vive, we require you to post at the very least one, healthy, seven sentence paragraph. That isn't too hard to ask, right? Have the decency to write a nice post. Please. Know your: two, too, and to's / their, they're, and there's / your, you're's. Use proper grammar and punctuation - seriously. It's not hard.
LITERATE ROLE PLAYING: What exactly is a nice post?
A nice post is usually run through a spell checker before posting. Proper grammar and punctuation is present. It's seven sentences at the very least, but even more makes it nicer. The post is a size one, and everything is spaced out properly. In addition, the post contains quality. It can be replied to. It's not messy - it's clear and well composed.
ON OOC & C-BOX: How can you be literate in chat!?
Treat as chat box like an OOC board. All the rules of literacy apply EVERYWHERE in Vive, including the chat box. This means, yes, you still need to put a wonderful period on the end of your sentence before you press enter. You also still need to capitalize. Keep the chat box clean, please.
When posting on Vive we would prefer that you keep things uniform by using size one font. (Unless the font face you are using requires a larger font size to be legible.)
oo2. ACTIVENESS. When you join Vive, you are in the for the long-haul. You are expected to stay here and be a dedicated member. Since Vive is plot-oriented, you can't just leave us on a whim. If you decide that Vive isn't for you? Voice it to the admins - that way we can take care of business. That being said, if you can't get on to post a measly paragraph every, oh, let's say second day? What are you doing role playing anyway? Is this asking too much? Okay, I digress. Just please be active. Post in the C-box, start conversations in the OOC area. I really don't care, but don't let all my slaving away at the computer be for nothing. Do not let this place die. If you can't get on for a good amount of time - post on the absent board, or mail one of the admins.
***If your character has relative importance to the plot and you vanish? We will give your character away. So don't take a plot character if you can't be on enough. ***
oo3. This is a given: no power-play or god-moding. Don't know what that is? Urban Dictionary it, ask your mom, ask your brother that never leaves the house - I don't really care how you find out about it, just don't do it!
oo4. POSTING DURING ROLE PLAY:
a. Make sure to post in the correct area. The areas we have are VERY general - you can basically make up wherever you want to go within those areas. (For example, Bob and Sally visit the Slums and go to a soup line. ) Having really limited places is rather chaotic and the threads never get used.
b. Since we have general areas, in the title section of your role play, follow this form: "CHARACTER NAME & CHARACTER NAME: IN THE WHATEVER PLACE. " For example:"BOB & SALLY: IN THE BAKERY."
c. Mature role play? Sexytimes? Title it like this: "BOB & SALLY: MATURE." Now Bob and Sally can get it on without the rest of the world having to experience it with them.
d. All thread topic titles must be written in capitals.
e. Don't skip ahead time more than like, a week or two. Seriously.
oo5. VIVE IS A MATURE WEBSITE. We have dark themes and areas. This is not an excuse to go and role play sexytimes or anything else, okay? We accept it, but TAG THE POST ACCORDINGLY. Also, swearing isn't really a problem here. If you are uncomfortable, state it when you are online and we will refrain from doing so until you get off.Just kidding.
Don't pressure someone into doing sexytimes with you. Seriously. That's some sort of ridiculous internet rape.
WITH THIS BEING SAID - if you wish to have sexytimes, mail any of the staff members. (This means admins and moderators. ) Don't just have sex because you can. Have sexytimes in your role play because it works well with the storyline.
IF I SEE ANYONE ABUSING THIS, I SWEAR, I WILL CUT ALL HEADS OFF.
oo6. FOLLOW the admins and moderators. This is self-explanatory.
oo7. SIGNATURES ARE OPTIONAL. If you're going to have one - awesome. Just don't make the damn thing huge as hell, okay? Okay!
oo8. FINISH YOUR ROLE PLAYS. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT leave a role play to die. You may have multiple threads going at once (but make sure you don't screw up your time-line, okay?) but DO NOT leave them to die. Once you are finished with a thread, re-title it as ____ : FINISHED. Then lock the post.
oo9. THE C-BOX is incredibly fun, but please use the c-box as you role play. An environment with balance OOC and IC is a very good thing.
o10. MAKE SURE TO KEEP AN AIR OF MATURITY. We are not an obnoxious guild that yells: CATS R FLYING!!! just to make us sound "cool. " Fufu hates guild/role plays where they do that - it's unsophisticated. This goes for in c-box, OOC, and even role play. Stay mature, stay composed, don't try hard and be funny because it's annoying as hell. To put it bluntly. Keep the damn chat box clean. Don't spam the chat box. Seriously. Please. You, trying to be funny - isn't funny.More bluntness.
o11. Stay creative! Although I like a good love plot between two characters - there are other fields to explore. Enemies, friendship, or just bumping into someone new. Also, you are free to discuss pre-character relationships, but I recommend you sometimes go with the flow of your role play. It's like a book with ending for you to skip and read!
o12. DON'T KEEP PEOPLE WAITING. I know you may be busy. I know some replies can be tedious, just please, do your best. This is a role playing forum. If you slow someone else down, it hurts them. Reply as quickly as possible.
