APPEARANCE ███
There are two things that stand out about Wesley. The first thing is that he looks like the epitome of Ireland. And he is. With a thick Gaelic accent, and a mop of red hair to prove is, Wes is entirely authentic. We all remember grade school. We had the nerdy kids, the cool kids, the quiet ones, the strange ones, and there was always the singular 'tall awkward kid.' That is the second thing. Growing up, that was Wes. By the time Wes was 13, he was near full grown, standing at an impressive 5'11", and hitting 6'2" at around 15. Given his height, and impressive growth rate, Wes never had a chance to even out. He is blatantly skinny with absolutely no muscle mass.
His face, despite the consistently challenging life he lives, is filled with lines of happiness. These such lines begin at his crow's feet that have begun to develop. They gently hint at Wes's genuineness, and lust for life. Upon his heavily freckled nose rests a pair of well worn, thick rimmed glasses, the one thing that never leaves Wes's person. Wes also smiles all the time, displaying his adorably, but vaguely crooked teeth for the world to see.
He favors bow ties and suspenders to hold up his loose, ill-fitting khakis, complemented by a wrinkled white button down. With a jacket and hat, Wes blends in seamlessly with the American people.
Wes is also a fairly sickly child. Going back to the school reference, he's the boy that's never there. The one who could be absent for extended periods of time for a mere cold. If something is going around, Wes will catch it. He is also bothered by a fairly intense case of asthma, forcing him to keep his lifestyle running at a calm, reasonable pace.
███ PERSONALITY
Wes is cunning and smart on his feet, something that didn't always come naturally to him. In addition, he is snappy, sharp, irritable with 'customers', and impressively secretive. However, toward his friends, Wes tends to calm down, displaying more of his silly, sensitive side.
He seems awfully self centered, as his main focus is making sure that he alone is fed and taken care of. It's not to say that he doesn't care, he just "has his priorities straight." Strangely enough, Wes is very bitter toward the homeless, thinking them rather pathetic. He himself has managed to find a way to survive, and while it's by questionable means, if he did it, then surely everyone else can, too.
Wes also sees no problem whatsoever with Rouge, reasoning that if people want to partake in such a life-changing drug, they can do whatever the please. Why, oh why, must people rebel against it, and the government's "so-called plans" to ruin America, or something like that? If you don't like it, don't do it. Despite his "your choice" ideology, Rouge plays a large role in his life, and those of his... clients.
Wes, due to his extensive usage of Rouge during his stay with the Hill Society Circus, has developed somewhat of a tolerance to the substance. However, coupled with this immunity of sorts, Wes is now very, very forgetful. To reprimand the sorry situation, he totes a leather notebook with him everywhere, where he details anything that may be considered important to know for later.
Also caused by Wes's poor memory is his characteristic OCD. In terms of filing things at work, everything must be absolutely flawless. If everything is in it's exact place, then Wes can find any information he may have forgotten with ease..
OTHER/HISTORY/EXTRA ███
Wesley hails from Tullamore, Ireland, living on the outskirts of town near Charleville Castle. The castle was often abandoned by previous owners for extended periods of time, leaving little Wesley a place to go and play on his own. He had a very simplistic and normal life, with his little sister Nancy, his mother Aisling, and father Connor. They didn't make money, but still took in enough to get by. When his family had cash to spare, his family often went to the circus together, and this quickly became Wes's favorite thing. He was entranced by the acts, and enticed by the glory. This however, was a lifestyle Wes could only live out in his dreams.
Growing up on the farm was hard for Wes, as he was the oldest, and expected to help. But he felt like a constant hindrance, as his asthma condition withheld him from assisting. When he was around 14, his family was unable to pull a successful harvest in time. Feeling much of the blame for his nonexistent contribution, Wes immediately left for town, hoping to catch the Circus that just so happened to be passing through town. He needed to find somewhere where he would not be bothersome due to his asthma, and for some reason, the circus sounded like a solution.
And so he was welcomed to the family of the Hill Society Circus, an American circus that just so happened to be doing a few performances overseas. Fitting in well, Wes immediately took to the act of the magician, and often adapting to be a conman when money was short. He read people beautifully, and could tell by their expressions exactly how to hand a situation, or what they wanted to hear. However, returning to America, the circus hit hard times with the depression, and the lifestyle got too rough for Wes, who jumped ship once he had the chance. By that time, Wes is nearly 17, and in a foreign country all alone. Learning quickly, Wes takes advantage of the new drug sweeping the nation. Rouge. And by hiding it in drinks, or boiling into steam for inhalation, Wes is able to con anybody for anything, making an impressive amount of money considering his line of business. And so, he travels around, trying to make the best of his unfortunate situation, one day hoping to return to Tullamore.
